Why not spend Christmas holiday in Iceland? Experience the real Christmas feeling in Reykjavik, which is lit up with thousands and thousands of Christmas lights. After a walk through the old town of Reykjavik, a swim in the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle excursion you will get right into that “Christmas spirit“.
After you have touched down and left your luggage at the hotel it is time to explore the city of Reykjavik with your friends or collegues. We recommend that you walk through the charming Laugavegur; the main street in the city. We also recommend you to either join in on the Reykjavik Food Walk, Beer Tasting or Whale watching. If you're lucky maybe there's a concert in Harpa Concert Hall while you're there.
After breakfast you will have the opportunity to do the Golden Circle tour, taking in the natural highlights of the South of Iceland, Gullfoss - Iceland‘s most famous and picturesque waterfall; Geysir - world-famous geothermal area, Thingvellir - a National Park of great beauty and historic interest.
Go on an optional day tour, we recommend the Blue lagoon: Enjoy a peaceful, tranquil and romantic day at the Blue Lagoon, in another world where lava and thermal water complement each other. The effect is even more stunning in winter than in summer due to the unbelievable contrast of hot and cold, light and darkness. Traditionally, Christmas starts at 6 pm in Iceland where an authentic Christmas buffet awaits you in the hotel restaurant.
On Christmas day you can either enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in Reykjavik with a sightseeing walk around the old town, or simply stay in bed and read a good book like the rest of the Icelanders!
Depending on flight times you can spend the morning in Reykjavik. Transfer from your hotel to Keflavik airport for your flight back.
