Fishing in Iceland Sea Angling in the West Fjords

Arrival in Keflavik airport. Meet and greet at the airport upon arrival. Transfer to the domestic airport for a 40 min. evening flight to Isafjordur in the north west part of the country. In Isafjordur you will be met by one of our staff who will take you to Flateyri / Sudureyri where you will stay for one week during your fishing in Iceland.

Evening departure to Reykjavik with domestic flight from Isafjordur airport. On arrival in Reykjavik you will be transferred to your Hotel in Hafnarfjordur where you will stay during the last two nights. You will have plenty of tim to take visit the sights of Reykjavik and there are also a variety of excursions on offer for your last day.

Transfer from your hotel to Keflavik airport for your return flight.

Our fishermen stay in our 3 bedroom cottages and flats that can accommodate up to 6 persons. The most usual and comfortable thing is for 4 persons to share a house and a boat. Fishing is from the 8m offshore cabin boats with sea angling rods 20 - 50 lbs and stron reels with braided line, pilks of approx 400-700g, rubber fish of 20-30 cm and 300-500g and life bait as mackerel or octopus, which the guides always have available. The average fishing depth is 30-60m, mostly sandy bottom, some shells and almost no stones or rock. The most common catch is Cod (up to 30kg), Haddock (up to 6 pack), Wolf-fish (up to 12kg), Monkfish (up to more than 20kg) and even the Atlantic Halibut (up to 250cm and more than 200kg!). A 20kg mixture of four different types of luxury frozen fish fillets is available in thermo bags for you to take home.
